Project Background

Manufacturing facilities require a stable and cost-efficient power supply to keep production lines and daily operations running smoothly. In Pretoria, South Africa, a local sock factory adopted a solar + energy storage solution to improve energy reliability and make better use of renewable energy.

The system combines 200 kWp of solar PV, three SAJ CH2 50 kW hybrid inverters, and 300 kWh of SAJ CB2 battery storage, creating an integrated energy solution designed for the factory’s commercial and industrial power requirements.

Project Benefits

At the heart of the system, the SAJ CH2 provides flexible energy management with 6 MPPTs, 200% PV oversizing capability and 22.5A string current, enabling efficient utilization of the factory’s PV system. With support for up to 10 units in parallel, the solution also provides flexibility for future system expansion.

For enhanced power continuity, CH2 supports direct diesel generator integration and UPS-level on/off-grid switching, helping the facility maintain a more reliable energy supply under different operating conditions.

Paired with the CH2, the SAJ CB2 battery system provides scalable energy storage based on high-performance 280Ah LFP cells. Smart thermal management and remote firmware upgrades further simplify system operation and maintenance.

Together, CH2 + CB2 create a reliable, scalable and future-ready energy infrastructure for the factory.
